The Japanese restaurant “Sushi Cho” is located on the 20th floor of the “Westin Chosun Hotel” in downtown Seoul.
The project involved the complete rebuilding of an area of approx. 600 sq.mt., assigning it to
the new restaurant that enjoys a spectacular panoramic view of the city.
The rectangular shape and dimensions of the “tatami”, the traditional Japanese carpet, have become the chief element governing the space and its composition.
The design of the flooring, with the use of different materials (wood, stone) and of the
countertops, cut from the “luminous grooves” with indirect light, visually reinforces this
concept.
The choice of the materials and the essential design of the interiors, forges a dialogoue between the austere yet harmonious atmosphere of the historical Japanese residences and the contemporary chic.
