The request to build a new house in an area adjoining a historic Villa, prompted us to attentively consider the design to be adopted. Recognizing the strong symbolic meaning of the historical building, the new house avoids any mimetic language or interpretation and proposes a design that outlines a sort of “housing archetype”, however with a distinct formal identity.
Thus the “marble house” was created: just like a sculpture lying on the lawn, its stone cladding coats the whole building, by dynamically wrapping any element of it.
