The design proposal for 300 parking spaces provides for the formation of an underground car park developed on two levels under the ground of Piazza Mazzini and under part of that of Piazza Garibaldi in the center of Lecco. The project also proposes the arrangement of the Squares on the surface with an organic design of paving and street furniture that integrates with the one recently created for other city squares (XX Septembre and Cermenati). Particular attention was paid to the study of traffic flows and volumes, foreseeing the location of the access ramp and the accumulation lane away from existing historic buildings and correctly integrated into the city road system. The emerging circular volumes of the stairwells and elevators, characterized by strong transparency (large windows), guarantee a greater reduction of the environmental impact.
