Gramercy Kitchen

Realized on the ground floor of a skyscraper in the center of Seoul, the project of this restaurant involved the complete redesign of a double-height space with a surface area of approximately 530 square meters. A high wall clad in wooden slats, placed diagonally with respect to the regular plan design, separates and articulates the spaces, also supporting the staircase leading to the upper level. The scarcity of windows and the need to resort to artificial lighting stimulated the creation of a backlighting system for high curtains covering an entire wall. A computer regulates the different colors of the lamps, creating evocative scenic effects in the environment. Finally, a large work by the artist Arthur Duff adds a particular identity to the space.
