UNDERGROUND PARKING

Lecco – Italy
Project: 2005
Structure and Plant System: Modulo Zeta S.r.l. – Lecco – Italy
Project financing: ATI Lecco Parking – Filca / Pietro Carsana & C. S.r.l. – Lecco – Italy

The project proposal for 300 car parks consisted in a two-levels underground parking below Piazza Mazzini and part of Piazza Garibaldi surface areas in downtown Lecco. It envisaged also the organization of the squares landscape context, with an organic design of the flooring and the street furniture matching those recently implemented in other city squares (XX Settembre and Cermenati).
Particular focus was set on the traffic volume and flow, in so far as the access ramp and accumulation lane were placed away from the existing historical buildings and properly integrated into the city road system.
The circular volumes emerging from stairways and elevators, characterized by high transparency (large windows) ensure a notable environmental impact reduction.
