I-PARK HYUNDAI MODEL HOUSE

Seoul – South Korea
Completed: 2009
General Contractor: Hyundai Development Company – Seoul – South Korea

This type of building, very poular in South Korea, is part of a careful marketing strategy and customer service, which was adopted by large companies that build exstensive residential complexes.
The temporary building, sited next to the yards, becomes a communication tool as well as a meeting and cultural entertainment place to potential apartments buyers .
A total area of approx. 2.800 sq.mt., developed on two levels, on the ground floor hosts a covered car park, offices and commercial information spaces as well as a coffee and a small amphitheater for people to meet. Upstairs, three different apartment prototypes completely finished are accessible through a large stairway and can be visited by the potential customers.
Wrapped in an envelope conveying a strong image of the “brand”, the prefabricated structure becomes a communication element itself. In order to soften the building aspect, the project provided also for a sort of ‘second skin’, made of expanded, backlit metal panels that turns the building in a huge lantern at night.
