The association “La Nostra Famiglia” offers care and rehabilitation of individuals with disabilities, especially children and adolescents. In addition, it provides reception, scientific research and caregivers’ professional training. The Association operates throughtout Italy with 29 branches and relies on 2,300 caregivers who assist 25,000 patients a year.

As the Association needed to effectively improve and enhance its services, while maintaining the headoffice in Lecco, we implemented this new space with a total floor area of. 2.000 sq.mt. in addition to a large roofed terrace and car parks.

In line with the Association’s requests, we designed a flexible structure which would adequately meet the different therapeutic-rehabilitative activities’ needs.
For timing and cost containment purposes, we chose to mostly use prefabricated components both for the builiding’s structures and the outer shell.
Special attention was paid to technologies and systems identification, which were aimed at a better reduction of energy consumption.
